My former paper, The Phnom Penh Post, has taken out three awards at this year’s Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards, which covered stories published during 2010. The Post won an award for Excellence in Multimedia News Presentation for our online coverage of the Duch trial, and one for Excellence in Reporting Breaking News for our coverage of the tragic Diamond Island bridge stampede in November. My former colleague James O’Toole also received an Honourable Mention for Business Reporting, for a great piece exposing a sketchy Phnom Penh “real estate” firm — a report that led to the arrest of two of the company’s directors.

This comes following two awards at the 2009 awards. Well done team!
